Is there such a thing as a 'hood tax?
I think that there is. Gas prices in my neighborhood are about 10-15 cents more. And the grocery store? Forget it. The produce sucks and cereal is like $4. I live in Colorado, next to Nebraska and Kansas, where corn lives! Let you fuckers out on the east coast pay thru the nose for Cocoa Pebbles. Why do I have to?
Best part? I work in Honkyville. Right next to a grocery store. Like night and day. No, more like Jamaica and Beirut. Some folks need to show some pride in their neighborhood, they might get better fruit. I'm not kidding. I see some people just littering right next to a trash can. Lazy actions come from lazy thoughts, and no one owes anyone who is lazy. Just sayin'.
Should you help anyone move that isn't packed?
I think now the answer is no. Or if they're a really good friend they get one mulligan. After that, they need to either get their act together or hire someone. I'm right, right?
Why bother?
This is 2 notes in one. Some people can't win for trying. My Mom got crap for having to work on Mother's Day from my GramGram. Mind you, the store she works at has cut her hours in more than half and they never schedule her for Sunday. Well they did this time. I could hear the guilt oozing across the phone. I want to know, really, why the guilt? It's not like Ma Dukes did it on purpose. She's not even remotely vindictive, can't anyone make an honest mistake?
While I leave on a plane in about 33 hours, I am still being chided for not making my trip longer. Sorry, I'm a contractor, no work = no pay. How hard of a concept is this to get? Best part for me is that when I was asked if I was going home I said "no, I'm going back east, this is home". Hells yeah. I'll just be glad to see my family, a couple of friends (never enough, I know) and my Godson. Better to have quality of time than quantity of time. Just sayin'.
