Sean Taylor, RIP

Sean Taylor, dead at age 24, and for what?

So far, it is being investigated as an armed robbery. And if this is the case, the police and Sean Taylor’s friends are about to go hunting. It’s human nature. Sorry if you don’t like it, but if you tried to rob someone, shot and led to their death, I’m pretty sure I’d go after you, too. I can only hope that the internet takes this stuff and doesn’t run with it, but I’m sure I’ll be wrong on this. Rumors are already out there that this could be a scorned former lover or from Taylor beating up someone 2 years ago. I hope both are wrong, that this was random, and that whomever did this is caught and dealt with. For now, my condolences to Taylor’s family, girlfriend, and 8 month old daughter. Football is a distant second right now. No one should lose their life over defending their home.

Cedric Benson fractured leg above the ankle, done for the year, and for how much longer?

Well, I know some Bears fans out there won’t be hurt by the news, but for Benson, could this be the end of his career? He was averaging less than 4 yards a carry, will be going under the knife shortly, and I’m thinking this is the end of the line for him. Instead of going out with a bang, it’s a mere whimper. Best of luck in your next life, Ced, I hope that degree from Texas is worth something, because I don’t see you plodding for any other team anytime soon.

Pittsburgh, do you know how to read a weather report?

Farmers Almanac? Something? Anything? So you fine folks running Heinz field want to have college and high school games at the same stadium as your beloved Steelers, and that’s great. But since you’re old school, it has to be played on natural grass. And that’s fine, too. How hard is it to look at a weather report a mere 36 hours before a Monday Night Football game and go, ‘Holy crap, it’s going to pour tomorrow and most of Monday’? Gee, Gomer, maybe you shouldn’t install new turf over the beat up stuff so that there’s no drainage. Believe me, a green thumb is not something in my arsenal, but don’t they sell tarps in Pittsburgh??? I barely watched the game, but I did the punts that just stuck in mud, no bounce at all. This ain’t the Olympics, and you aren’t Kerry Strug, “sticking” a landing off the pommel-horse.

Quiet Riot frontman Kevin Dubrow dead at age 52.

I can only pray you are rocking out with the Man upstairs. In a related note, my folks were very cool for allowing me to open up a Columbia House membership and allowing this to be one of my 11 tapes for a penny. Mom may not have been thrilled with certain lyrics, but “Cum on Feel The Noise” would certainly help her clean the house.

Sonny Lubick no longer coaching @ CSU, what's the deal?

No one knows at this time, and I know this won’t make headlines on the national level, but still. I’ve been up to Ft. Collins numerous times to watch football games, and I can tell you that Sonny definitely put that school on the map, and anyone that played that team knew they’d be in for a fight. His last 4 years weren’t spectacular, but when the field is named for you while you’re still coaching should allow you the chance to leave on your terms, and it doesn’t appear that way currently. And some of the alumni are pissed, and they talk with their checkbooks, so I’m told. Bentley probably won’t get another dime from me because they have a new president with a hyphenated name. It’s my money, so that’s how I deal with it.

Political talk, skip over if you don't want to read it, I won't be offended...
Presidential hopeful Bill Richardson is now stating body count of American Soldiers is not an effective measuring tool for success in Iraq. Regardless of how you feel about this War, I'm pretty sure less than 6 months ago that the body count was a major point of emphasis for Richardson, Hitlary, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and wanting troops pulled out. Now that the numbers are going down they aren't important anymore?
I'm reminded of Rowdy Roddy Piper, "Just when you think you know the answers, I change the questions."--at least it feels like circular logic to me.

I knew I always liked this guy...
Please read the link, regarding what Kyle Turley is up to. Even when defending a QB like Aaron Brooks on a Sunday night game vs. the Jets so many years ago ripping off helmets, this is pretty damn cool...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3129741

Some call Turley nuts for that Jets episode, but any of you that have played sports knows that if one of your own is getting his head ripped off, you defend him. Especially if you are a lineman and it’s your QB. Like a catcher and his pitching staff.

Rumored Santana to Yankees deal-why deal studs for him but not Cabrera?

So we’re clear here, Hank Steinbrenner is talking to the press, but not the GM of the team, Brian Cashman. Boy are the Yankees going to be pissed when Cashman revamps a team like Tampa Bay. The Yankees are apparently talking to the Minnesota Twins about 2-time Cy Young winner Johan Santana, and they may be willing to part with Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, or Ian Kennedy. Not all of them, mind you, but include one of them in the deal. They’d deal their future stud closer or one of their frontline pitchers of the future for Santana but not include any in a discussion for Miguel Cabrera? Why am I not shocked. Look, I know pitching and defense win in the postseason, but the Yankees are old. Santana is 28, but he’s still a pitcher. He will only play once every 5 days. I know Cabrera looks like he is about to eat his way out of the league in 3 years, but he’s only 24….and an everyday player. Pitchers get hurt all the time, and who’s to say that Santana can handle the pressure of New York? Look at Cabrera, at least he’s played for your new manager, Joe Girardi. I just can’t fathom giving up young arms for one arm, or giving up an arm for a guy who has stud numbers thru his first few years at the plate. And with the leadership on the Yankees (Jeter, Posada) plus the other Dominicans, I just think they’d keep Miggy away from the post-game spread…I’m just sayin’

thoughts from someone else's couch, Week 12 edition

My demented thoughts after watching football yesterday...
The Pats receivers dropped a ton of catchable passes yesterday. I have a feeling Humble Pie will be served to the O for that.
Proof that I'm an idiot...I really thougth Donte Stallworth would see the ball a ton last night. But it was the Wes Welker show, on a big level. 13 catches for 149. Welker is now 2nd in the league in receptions, with 81, to the Housh's 83.
Big Ups to Andy Reid for having his team well-prepared. Funny, I don't hear any mention now of how he should quit and deal with his family issues. The Iggles showed up and weren't afraid, and I think that's the big thing to take away from this game. Show up, they play the games for a reason. If you want to lay down, that's your call, but the boys from Philly showed up to play the game.
AJ Feeley being AJ Feeley. That's what I thought of in the 4th quarter. No matter what anyone else could state on TV, this is AJ Feeley we're talking about here. As Bill Parcells would state constantly, you are what you are. So when he threw the pick to Asante, not shocked. But what I'm really wondering is where was the penalty for tackling James Sanders by the facemask on his pick?
Another group that will be getting served up a heaping helping of the pie will be the secondary. It took them until halfway thru the 3rd quarter to start playing inside technique...I thought that would be common knowledge to do that vs. a west coast offense, the whole thing is predicated on slant routes, or was I the only one watching those 49ers in the 80's??

Al Michaels called it a dogfight...whoops....I can hear the PETA protest already. At least he caught it. I just wish we could've seen Madden's face after Al said it.

The Redskins play late in games has been atrocious. Tampa Bay had done nothing in the 2nd half, at one point going 3 and out on 3 consecutive possessions, and QB Jason Campbell goes away from Chris Cooley...uh, he's decent, might want to find him. I'm just sayin'....

That Jeff Garcia means quite a bit to his team, huh?

So Carson Palmer must've had 2 bowls of Wheaties yesterday, because I was very surprised to see Cincy lighting up Tennessee. Oh, and a nod to Ocho Cinco...you look like a jackass costing your team 15 yards for celebrating a TD. I know it's your first one in 10 games, but could you please stop bojangling for the white folks in the stands. Here's my thought, trade him, keep Housh and Henry, and I bet half the stupid crap that keeps that team under .500 stops. Just try it, what do you have to lose? A whiny WR who punks out your QB on TV? Sounds like a win-win to me.
And with Tennessee losing 3 in a row, giving up huge numbers on D, Albert Haynesworth $'s are going way up. And keep Pacman Jones away from this team. Rumors are flying around the 'net that Jones saw Big Al at a club and may have/may not have popped Al in the mouth because Al didn't defend Pac'....seriously? What's there to defend? You made it rain at a club where your boys started a brawl. You've been arrested 10 times in 5 years. How does he defend you? No one wants you back on the team, playa.

Baltimore, buh-bye. Pretty much out of the playoff picture, and I can't wait for New England to bitch-slap back to Crabcakes-ville next week...Oh the fun I'm going to have.
And maybe having C Nick Hardwick return was a key for San Diego deciding to man up yesterday. Ya think? They've sucked since he got hurt 4 weeks ago. He comes back, and Philip Rivers looks like the 2nd coming. Of course, the porous Ravens secondary might have something to do with it. But face facts folks, I know centers don't get a lot of love from the press, but they are the security blankets of QB's. Ask yourself this, which Linus did you like better, with or without the whoobie? Thought so.

Glad I'm not a Chiefs fan. Herm Edwards is still one of the worst at game-management we'll ever see. With about 5 minutes to go, Herm calls a timeout, and it's 4th and 1. After the timeout is over, he decides to challenge the spot of the ball. He loses said challenge, costing him another timeout and a challenge. Now, he could've done this all in the 1st timeout!!! So he's left with 1 timeout. He decides to forgo the 41-yard FG attempt and give it a go on 4th and 1. The play gets stuffed 1 yard behind the line of scrimmage, Oakand takes over and runs out the clock...think one of those timeouts would've helped, along withe 2-minute warning? I'm just sayin'....

Ah, it wouldn't feel like a complete disaster of a season unless Gus Frerotte has taken some snaps for you under center. 20 seconds to go from the 1, and he fumbles the snap. How the heck does this keep happening?? Isn't this crap taught in Pee-Wee football? I'm pretty sure I did this in Jr. High, and I don't ever remember a bad exchange.

Denver, thanks for kicking to Hester twice!!! He's only the best kick returner in the game. He now has 11 return TD's in 27 games....I can't do that in Madden, Tecmo or playing against a bunch of kids in 1st grade. Honestly. That's what you get when your Punter/Kickoff specialist is on 'roids, he thinks he's superhuman and can stop the best player on the Bears.
Oh, and I should mention this, hell of a throw and catch from Grossman to Berrian to tie the game up. It's on the highlights all around today, and it was better the second and third times you view it, especially considering who threw it and who he threw it against (Champ Bailey). I love that this gives Chicago hope because they aren't that good.

Nice kick, Rackers. So you shank a 32-yd. fg...how? You were a stud 2 years ago, and now you just flat out suck. Glad I picked you up for fantasy football. Thank goodness you didn't cost me a game. Kurt Warner throws for 484 yards and loses, man, that's terrible. Arizona is losing grip of it's slim chances of a playoff spot.

David Carr, the door. Yes, it's someone to take you away from the NFL. You are awful. I've never seen so many horrible stat lines in my life, and you're killing Steve Smith in the process. The guy is a top WR, and you won't force feed him the ball. I can't believe how wrong I was on this guy. I saw him his last year at Fresno State play CSU, and he was dominant, made all these throws, but it's over. I think all those hits he took in Houston have made him gun-shy and looking at the rush instead of downfield. I was really hoping he'd get the whole year off to just sit and watch Jake Delhomme chuck it, but he blew out his elbow. Carr has been replaced by 44 year old Vinny Testaverde and now Matt Moore...damn it, someone call Jeff George, I bet he can find Smitty down the sideline.

Unfortunately, we've all been wrong on certain ballplayers, and I've got a bunch of Luis Medina rookie cards and Tim Couch jersey to prove it.

Sean Taylor is about to miss a lot more time-shot in the groin...yeeeouch. This is what I first wrote. Now that we know he's been shot and the femoral artery has been damaged, he could be in a coma right now due to someone potentially trying to rob his house, I can only say Godspeed, wake up, get healthy, and get a gun. Not for thuggish reasons, but to protect your house and family. Reports are stating that Taylor grabbed a machete and went to see what the noise was...it's the old saying, but it's true....You can't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Hells Yes

And if I lived anywhere near this place, I'd eat there...

http://www.wave3.com/Global/story.asp?S=7375274&nav=0RZF

random stuff...

So since I'm house-sitting, there is a park a few blocks away. It's pretty much the happening park for all those people that like to run and be in shape. Me, I walk it with the ipod blaring. It's considered exercise, so there. What gets me is 2 things I've seen in the last 2 days....first is the lady hauling her kid in the exorbatent stroller, running, with the phone ear-piece..lady are you kidding me? How about interacting with the kid??? That's a human being, not an accessory like a damn purse. The second one is the lady who is jerking around her dogs, and not in the good way. Dogs like to sniff trees and bushes, so I'm told. Apparently, they like to go to the bathroom, too. But this lady keeps yanking her dogs every time they slow down to sniff a tree. It's a friggin' park, you loon! What are they supposed to do? I wonder who the bitch is in this threesome...nope, it's the lady yanking on the chain. Be glad I'm not a dog, or biting would be in order.

Week 11 Wrap-up
I'll be brief (ya, right). But here are my thoughts on this past week in the NFL....

Jason David will cure whatever is ailing your passing game. The guy has been lit up more than a bong at a State U. He's the definition of a system player. Good Cover 2 corner. God-awful in man to man, he can't do it. He's a safety next year if anyone has any brains.

Why, why, why did Bobby Petrino start Byron Leftwich? Joey Harrington won 2 games in a row, was completing 60% of his passes, and is mobile. If you see any highlights from this game, note 2 things...1)Leftwich winds up like he's on the diamond, not the football field. 2)Mobility, which is necessary in this league, is not on his list of top 20 skills. Oh, and how can any owner trust someone who asks to be called Bobby...this ain't Talladega Nights.

Brett Favre is chucking it all over the place, and they Packers D looks great. I hope I get to watch them play Dallas on 11/29. That looks like a preview of the NFC Championship right now.

Tony Romo to TO 4 times for TD's....uh, you might want to cover him. That guy, he's pretty good. But if you don't think the Pats were watching the game and Brady and Moss just kind of had that look to each other, you're either in denial or you're nuts. 4 TD's in the 1st half? The Patriots are playing like a video game right now. They're playing Chess, everyone else is playing checkers. It's that simple.

San Diego is toast. And what a waste of talent. I say they're 8-2 with Marty still at the helm.

The fact that I live in Denver and have to hear people out here think that their beloved Broncos, with a 5-5 record, have a shot to go to the Super Bowl, is asinine. Who have they beaten, and how have they beaten them? They beat Buffalo and Oakland on last minute FG's. Wow, big W's there, boys. They beat the 3rd biggest fraud, Pittsburgh, at home. Come on, they aren't doing anything even if they make the playoffs. They are .500, with a game at Chicago this Sunday. They should win, but I get the feeling they'll get blasted by Rex Grossman. It's just a hunch.

I mentioned the 3rd biggest fraud being Pittsburgh, after losing to the Jets in OT. They are now 2-4 on the road. Sorry, but if you want to be considered a good team in my book, you simply win the games you're supposed to win. They gave up 7 sacks!!! And this is the team that New England should worry about? Sorry, not buying it.

But who are the other 2 biggest frauds? Easy, San Diego and Baltimore. San Diego still shocks me, only because I thought it would take a whole season before their collapse. And as much as I don't like him, I do feel for LT2. He's got another 3 great years, maybe, tops in his career. And he has to deal with a bumbling morons for coaches. 4th and 2 last Sunday to keep a drive going and them in the game, and he calls a pitch to the outside against a very good run D? Wow.
As for Baltimore, I'm done hearing about them. Tell Ray Lewis to retire. He puts his own teammates down, his coaches down, but never owns up to anything. Yes, he had a INT for TD, so what? You and I could've made that catch. That throw was well behind the receiver, into the arms of the trailing Lewis. Other than that, his offense gave him 23 points. Who's fault is it now Ray? Are you going to blame the officials for correctly calling the Phil Dawson FG good? You're not even the best LB on your team. The offense is pitiful, and they are so stubborn that they kept kicking to Joshua Cribbs, the guy who will be in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl. Do you not watch film? 3 guys you don't kick to...Hester, Cribbs and Leon Washington of the Jets. You're playing with fire when you do.

Hell, I need a job, one of you teams hire me as a consultant! I'm not asking for much.

Hot Stove
So I hear that A-Rod is going to re-sign with the Yankees. Let me be one of the first people to congratulate the Steinbrenner boys on the dumbest move they could make. That guy may put fannies in the seats, and your Dad's team may even make the playoffs, but between this and the other 2 signings, I'm thinking the Red Sox or someone else will win the AL East for the next 5 years, at least. It's simple, really. The guy is not a winner. Period. Never has been, never will be. Skip Bayless said it this morning, so here goes....In his last 59 postseason at-bats, he's had 38 men on base. Guess how many have scored? Zero. Zilch. Nada. None. That's not a slump, boys and girls. That is the way it is.
Between A-Rod, giving Posada a 4 year deal at age 36, and Rivera a 3 year deal at age 38, thanks so very much. As much as I don't like the Yankees, I am amazed when they do things this dumb. Look, next year, the OF will be damn near averaging 34 years old. Not spring chickens. Jeter is 32. Where are the kids besides Cano and Melky? And you'll have to find a spot for Melky. The youth is in the pitching, but they are wasting an asset. Joba Chamberlain should be their closer next year. Young, dominant arm. The kid is fearless. I don't like that his story got plastered everywhere, but that's mostly because I hate the Yankees. If he were on the Sox, I'd love the kid. But really, I've spoken about this to some NYY fans, and they get surprised and then ticked, because they know they have a couple of years left with Giambi, Damon, and Matsui. And then, there are no more position players coming at the moment. Arms are great, but you never know how anyone will turn out when they get to the show.

and lastly....

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...if I ever have kids and someone lays a hand on them, let alone a closed fist, let's just say I plan on making that scene from Pulp Fiction seem like Space Mountain.

And a big and belated thanks to all those Vets for Veterans Day. Screw the sales, thanks for defending my right to type like a moron....

freaking brilliant....

Okay, so I got a voicemail last night from my boy out in Toronto...so KP, this is for you. I'm going to touch on a few topics today, some of them have been beaten to death on ESPN and the radio, and the only reason I know that is because I'm home all day sort of trying to find a job. Other topics might be slightly off for those that have been reading this, but eventually even I have to discuss something semi-serious.

And just for your consideration, print this thing out and bring it to the crapper with you. You'll probably still need your copy of SI to get you thru your lunch time "break", but it's the thought that counts. Who knows, maybe this should be flushed, too.

1st up is the American League Cy Young voting...honestly, I could care less that Josh Beckett didn't win, and CC Sabathia did. Whoop-di-damn-doo. It's a regular season award. The rings are the things, and this kid Beckett has 2 in 5 years. 20 years from now, if anyone brings up this year, we'll all nod in agreement that while CC won the battle, Beckett won the war. CC went 19-7, while Beckett went 20-7. And I know we all think that 20 wins is an automatic award, not when CC pitches 40 more innings. And has a better strikeout to walk ratio. This isn't even the greatest Red Sox award snub in the last 10 years. Think I'm kidding? Remember Pedro coming in 2nd in the MVP voting in 1999? Losing it to Pudge Rodriguez?? Check out the numbers...

http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/awards_1999.shtml#ALmvp

There is no way I-rod (or whatever lame ass nickname he's called) was the MVP that year. He led the league in 1 category...GIDP (that's Grounded Into Double Play, for those scoring at home), was 7th in BA, 10th in slugging %, 6th in runs, 5th in hits (back to that in a second), 7th in total bases (which goes hand in hand with Runs scored), and tied for 2nd in caught stealing. Back to those hits, 199 of them...134 were singles, good for 67% of all his hits. Really tore the cover off of that one. Based on that, Jody Reed should've won an MVP. He was on a Texas team with Juan "Ow My Hammy" Gonzalez and Rafael "I have never done steroids" Palmiero. They won 96 games, the Sox won 95.
Pedro went 23-4....that's right, 23 wins. Winning percentage of 85%, 13 K/9 IP, 313 K's-113 more than the next closest person! A K/BB ratio of 8.46...the next highest guy was 3.13. There were writers who didn't put Pedro on their ballot. If they had, he would have won. This still ticks me off! The best part about that year? Being across the country going to a bar whenever Pedro started to watch, because it was electric. And that's what all my friends told me if they got a chance to go see the Sox that year. The ballpark was different. I thought so watching, but I wish I could've been there.

Next is the Celtics....all I can say is that it's awesome to see them leading Sportscenter. And the Knicks and the Lakers just suck. The Knicks are going thru some weird crap. Oh, and Stephon Marbury needs to be committed. To either the E! network or an asylum. Dude is flat-crazy. Telling the papers he had permission to leave the team and having his sexually-harassing coach say, "no he didn't". And then the $195K fine comes out, and all of a sudden Starbury is on a plane to come off the bench and score 13 pts. The Knicks suck, and I couldn't be happier. They deserve everything that's happening to them. They have a tyrant for an owner, and I can't wait until his daddy comes down to MSG and spanks him in front of millions. Oh, it's coming. The team stinks, the coach/GM/VP Isiah Thomas has the Un-Midas touch, and the roster would get spanked at the Rucker. Who would've thunk it that Zach Randolph looks normal in this crew? Talk about the company you keep....Oh, and why does Isiah have a job? Everything he touches turns to shit. Seriously. He torpedoed the CBA to bankruptcy, almost killed the Raptors, killed the Pacers only ever realistic shot to make a finals run, by losing to the Celtics when they had 2 players, and has not only put together this God-awful $86 Million payroll, he's lost a sexual-harassment case. Isiah, you ought to thank the good Lord you're black, because you either have naked pictures of owner James Dolan with a goat and a midget, or this is affirmative action gone horribly wrong.
That the Lakers are a soap opera and looking to trade the best player in the league is laughable, just as sad as Phil Jackson calling their loss to the Spurs a "Brokeback Mountain" game. If that means you got raped, so be it. I never saw the movie, and I never will. But I think it's about gay cowboys or something....

3rd is the Pats. You know what, Sports Illustrated can keep putting Boston teams on the cover, and it doesn't matter. People can bitch and moan about cheating all they want, and I don't care. Indy pumped in noise, watch YouTube, and no one says anything. Now I have to hear that the Colts are hurt, boo-hoo. It's called football. You have to pay the piper sometime. The Pats have Buffalo this Sunday night, and I think it will be competitive for the 1st quarter, I really do. Buffalo is going to be nuts, or did you not see the Monday night game against Dallas. I know they won't have their #1 RB, but they'll be keyed up. And then it will be over.
And I'll say it, I was impressed with Indy Sunday night. They didn't play horribly. They have just sacrificed 1/3 of the team for the sake of the other 2/3. Manning threw 6 picks. Granted, I've never seen anyone throw 6 picks in a game, but I have seen Tom Brady throw 4 here in Denver. It's a crappy feeling. But San Diego never put the Colts away. And it brings up an interesting point....what do you think the Chargers record would be if they had Dungy or BB as their coach? Perish the thought, I know. But I know we all talked about this after the 2003 ALCS, if Little and Torre were switched, we all thought the outcome would've been different.

So, I'm still looking for a job. Not that hard, mind you. But I am looking. I'm starting to get bored sitting around. Who knew I'd get bored? I figured I could do this for months on end....not so much.

Went out last night....to a country bar. It was for someone's birthday. I can't stand that music. I think I'm still bleeding from the ears. At least the ladies look good. Can't stand the music they listen to, but they sure do look good in them jeans....

thoughts from someone else's couch

Here are my thoughts from Week 9, from what I got to see on the tube to viewing on NFL.com and some highlights...

The Broncos stink, and I knew that, but to have 6 drops after QB Jay Cutler gets hurt? That's terrible. I know they've been beset by injuries, but they have no heart. Detroit just owned them yesterday, and it could have been a lot worse than the 44-7 score.

Hey Mike Shanahanigans, thanks for calling a timeout with 23 seconds left in that ass-kicking, just to see if you can sneak one in...you suck. What, did you tease Detroit and the Over? Be thankful Detroit didn't put Shaun Rogers back in to bitchslap your QB. There is no 36 point play in football.

To the replay booth official after the correct call of "fumble" was made after the aforementioned timeout, screw you, too!!! I and the rest of the damn nation wanted to watch the kickoff of the Pats and Colts, but thanks to you taking your sweet ass time, I missed the first 3 minutes. It is a play that matters not, believe me. Every once in awhile, officials get it right, although I'll have more to say about that in a few sentences....

Now, from the Pats game. Right before Addai took his little dumpoff catch and rambled 73 yards for a TD, I'm sure my neighbors could hear me screaming, "Cover the back!!!!"

My 1st half impression is that the Pats should be embarassed, especially the coaching staff. What was that Defense, Prevent Cover 3? It appeared that they were playing not to lose instead of playing to win, which never works.

102 yards in penalties in the 1st half. Nice work, Commissioner Goodell, you've leveled the playing field.

11:52 of 3rd-who is calling plays? Tell Maroney to stop dancing in the hole. Hit it and get what you can

Kevin Faulk getting turned before the pass gets to him, no call...and right in front of an official. Not one person in the history of sports has ever moved that way without help from someone, but apparently you missed it. And now that Brady is pissed, I think this could get to be fun.

0:08 3rd, I love that Welker returns punts and always gets positive yardage. Nothing worse than losing field position.

11:00 4th-it just doesn't look like the Pats want it as much as the Colts, am I missing something?

A pass interference call on Randy Moss.....I'm shocked, shocked I say!

TD catch by Wes Welker was great, but the throw was that much more impressive. You'll be seeing Jaws break that baby down all week.

There is another game being televised in the Denver market, Seattle at Cleveland...and Braylon Edwards just dropped a TD pass. Hit him right in between the 1 and the 7, and the announcers are stating that isn't the 1st drop for him this game...uh-oh (yes, I flipped during commercials. No need to worry, my ability to flip channels has never come into question. Fine, there was that Jacksonville game a few years ago, but it was snowing and I had company!)

Aaron Moorehead just had a huge drop, not as big as Reggie Wayne's later, but big.

Holy crap, are the Pats actually pulling this off???

Jarvis!!! Great surge, and smart play by slapping Manning's arm, ball right into Colvin's hands. I could care less about the 15 yd penalty for spiking it on the Colts logo, too bad.

Rodney Harrison played great in coverage on Dallas Clark. 2 catches for 15 yards, fantastic work.

So, I haven't read all the stuff I normally read early on a Monday morning, but I started to hear it last night, and it's bunk. That the Colts didn't have Marvin Harrison or Tony Ugoh. Too bad. Funny, no one was making excuses for the Pats last years without Seau or Rodney Harrison. Take your loss like men. There are no excuses. You play with what you have. Be thankful BB didn't put Samuel on Wayne. If there is a next time, Hobbs will be that much better. And I've heard no one talk about the Pats team record in penalty yardage, with 2 huge bogus
pass interference calls.

My favorite part of this game, that the Pats are not happy with their performance. Watch out.

After the Sunday night game, I was watching the local news (I lost the remote, briefly), and WR Brandon Marshall states that he can't name any of the Lions, except for a guy he went to college with...WTF?? Dude, stop drinking and driving. Those Lions just pasted your no-hands having ass up and down the field. 44-7 is not an anomoly, you got beat.

Norv Turner, please pick up the white courtesy telephone, it's Adrian Peterson telling you he's going to run left again. San Diego is done, put a fork, meat thermometer or grave on them. You had a top 10 running D, and Minnesota can't pass, yet this kid just beat you into submission. You are nothing more than a great O coordinator. It's over for you as a head coach. If I were an owner and you called asking to interview for a HC job, I'd laugh and hang up.

Oh, and I hate David Carr. I think I can sack him.
