Crazy ass week
Booked an interview for tomorrow
Booked an interview for Thursday
Got some kind of cold/cough thing that I need to get rid of
Listened to the Baltimore Ravens whine about scoreboard operation-which the NFL handles
Have I mentioned that I sound like Blanco Barry White with this damn cold
Read what Tim Thomas did and developed a full-on man crush
Stick to your guns, Timmy. And remember, the folks in Taxachusetts only bitch when it's about someone potentially offending a Democrat. Barney Frank can bang as many young boys as a priest from the Boston Archdiocise, no big deal. If anyone named Sully, Murph or Okie gives you any shit, tell them their union-mandated lunchbreak at The Golden Banana is over. Jagoffs.
No, I didn't smoke over the weekend
Dropped $1200 on the money pit that is my car. That's well over 3K since November.
Got to see my buddy's son take his first steps.....Effin' Amazing
Yes, a new job would be a good thing
lastly, where the hell are the Detroit Tigers getting all this money? Anyone been to Detroit lately? Is business booming?
Wish me luck, and calm enthusiasm on my interviews-something very good is going to happen.

There is no such thing as civil discourse
(Relax, picks are at the bottom)
Where's Newt Gingrich's ex-wife been all this time?
Did the President really just bojangle for his constituents???
Look, I get it, some people are enamored with the cool factor of having a half-black man as our President. Me? Don't care what color he is. I care about policy and character.
Why are people so crazy about Mitt Romney's tax rate? 15% isn't an income tax, fyi. It's a tax rate on investments. And even if it was his tax rate-why do you care? Don't hate a person for figuring out how to keep more of their money, ask them how they did it so you can keep more of yours! Don't ever be fooled by the end game media and politicians want to play on you-the game of wealth envy. They are simply in place to point out to you what you don't have, as opposed to saying, "hey look, you too could have these things if you worked at it". Don't go crazy, I know, I know-some folks don't earn it. But some do, and they are hated for it. Look, y'all know I don't like the guy that's President right now. But do I hate on the man for earning some paper by selling some books with his picture on the front covers that somebody else wrote? Hell no. If you're dumb enough to buy them and waste your time reading them, that's on you.
This goes back to policy and character. What your beliefs are. I have always laid mine out there. I earned it, therefore I want to keep it. Allow me the opportunity to give to the charities of my choice, take care of my family, and not rely on government so much.
I loathe the political landscape, and being told who earns what and why I should hate on them. I hate that millionaires tell me we should all pay more, when the disparity of what they earn to what I earn would be an insult by making the comparison of 'apples to oranges'....more like 'apples to truffles'. And I don't hate on them for earning. Work your hustle. But haters make the world go 'round. I know why I hate on who I hate on. I'm pissed they get a voice thru media outlets, when they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a mic.
Why do I loathe government so much? Easy-mankind (if you tell me to call it humankind, I'm bound by personal law to tell you to go fuck yourself) should fend for itself, not rely on the earnings of others. Bootstrapping it, so to speak. You take care of you and yours, and once that's done, work on the community. Not rob your neighbor so your family can eat. And I've got the resume to prove it, too.
As I sit here, Joe Paterno is on his deathbed. Can this get added to the counts against Jerry Sandusky? I stated it previously, that if Paterno was forced to quit coaching, he might die very soon after. Next up on the morbid calendar-Joe's wife Sue will not be far behind him once he passes. People aren't married for 60+ years to want to hang around much longer after their spouse leaves. Honestly, I'm half-shocked Ma Dukes is still around. But we'll get to her later.
Some links to amuse you
(sure hope they don't shut me down....crazy thing, that SOPA law-and dumb as hell, too)
One of my main reasons for disliking the government running anything is one particular reason-they fucked up running a whorehouse. Seriously. You don't have to read any of the links, but here's my Google Search page results. Enjoy the laughter, and then really think if you want this group of malcontents running your healthcare. G'head, I'll wait.
You might wonder why I pick on Democrats so much. There is truly an honest explanation. Or many parts to a bigger explanation. A big reason I link to things to point out the stupidity of some of these folks is simple-it's to combat what you read and see on a daily basis. Those that bash Fox News have every right to. I won't argue that they have a lot of stupid people talking on that station and running it. And folks claim it is the end of journalism as we know it. I say to that, "Puh-LEAZE". I read Fox News, not watch it. I read it to combat the things I read and hear other people talking about. Again, this goes back to how you were raised. I read 3 newspapers a day when I was a kid. And I firmly think there are 3 sides to a story-your side, my side and truth lying somewhere between. So while I have the internet (mostly Drudge Report), talk radio (once a month, maybe), Forbes and Fox News-again, it's to read, not watch-, y'all got NPR, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, NY Times, Washington Post, LA Times, and the Boston Globe. Feel free to argue.....g'head, I'll wait.
Senator Harry Reid needs to be put out to pasture. He doesn't know any millionaire job creators? They don't exist? This clown is a Senator from Nevada. Quick, name a city in Nevada....hmmmmmm, Las Vegas, that's in Nevada, right? Here's one, Steve Wynn. Maybe you've heard of him? Makes pretty friggin' sweet Hotel/Casinos. How many people does it take to operate a fully functional Vegas hotel and casino? Guessing it's more than 1...Harry, you're a dumbass, now go sit down and watch Matlock.
Fun with Obamanomics....please, don't ever think this country is at 8.5% unemployment.
I'm with Neal Boortz on this one. If these are the really good policies of this President, we're all fucked three ways from Sunday.
How would you like to be this guy? Oh, my house is foreclosed because I lost my job, but it's cool for Occupy Wall St. clowns to squat in it? When does the NYPD quit pandering to these losers?
We Ain't Equal, and We Ain't Ever Gonna Be Equal
Sorry, female readers, until you can write your name in cursive in the snow, men and women will never be equals. Quite frankly, I have no idea why you'd want to be equal with a man. This is not me patronizing you ladies, this is me keepin' it 100. That's who I am and what I do. Something that has been bugging me forever and a day. I loathe couples that state things are '50/50' and then make a hand gesture like it's straight down the middle. It'll never be straight down the middle. I get it, I've seen it coming, and it's why I'm single. I refuse to stand down because I might hurt someone's feelings. I'm also smart enough to know that I've yet to win, nor will I ever win, any argument with a woman. I'm old school to the nth degree, I open doors, I compliment without being sexist, I tip my cap, I treat women like the fairer of the sexes. And I can, for a multitude of reasons. One main reason I can turn my feelings off. I can be a cold, calculating prick. Some of you can, for a time. But then you show that you have a nurturing side. I only show that to my friends children, a few close friends and my Mother. The general public? Fuck 'em. I have this debate with friends a lot. I'm tired of being judged as everything that's wrong with the world. Everything is a man's fault. Cram that notion, seriously. What got me creased today? My buddy can't buy his son a kitchen set. WTF? Why not? I have 4 friends that can burn 'em up with the best of 'em. My buddy Dan-O makes about the best green chili ever. Zippy can whip up anything, even makes his own pizza. Shane makes phenomenal ribs-and the boys baked beans are competition worthy. And my boy in Canada, KP, best friggin' waffles ever. Sorry, I'm slightly scattered on this topic, I'm just tired of watching the male part of this species get beat down. I'm sorry that some women have penis envy. Not y'all, y'all are cool. Right? This is not me stating to 'know your place'. But I think of the successful relationships, and they aren't 50/50. Not every day. And if they were, they'd fail. Sometimes you need your partner to pick you up, or pick up the slack.
I know, I know, there are exceptions to every rule. I know of a woman that is raising her daughter, and doing a fantastic job. She's the outlier to this. Ask her how many of her female friends could do as well as she has, and she might have one. But two? I doubt it. I'm just tired of listening to women tell me they're like a dude. No, you're not. Even Chaz Bono isn't a dude yet, not until he gets his penis surgery. Even then, is he a guy? I'm not certain based on certain chemistry of the brain, the DNA. No clue, it's past me.
The Online dating dilemma
"I like people who are laid-back, have a sense of humor and like hikingbikingcampinggoingouttonewrestaurantsandseeingnewartexhibits"....who are these people? When does the honesty start? My other favorite-"I like to exercise all the time". Uh, when do you have time to earn a living? I get the feeling that if I'm truly honest, there's no way in hell I'd get a response.
Not that I mind. I'm cool with where I am in life. I get to live in my space. Any dirty dishes in the sink are mine. I think I'm ready to date again....but this garbage I mentioned above? Seriously? Me? I'd go on a day hike. I'd even go camping. But as a way of life? Hell no. I have cable, indoor plumbing and a comfy bed with 660 thread-count sheets. An art exhibit? Depends, are their vikings or cool things about history? No, it's abstract art, whatever the hell that means. As for the sense of humor thing, uh, that's as subjective as a chili cook-off. What I think is funny and what you think is funny are different. I guarantee it.
Cool suggestion, I've taken one thing for certain from this list. I highly recommend reading this, sharing it and printing it out and living it.
Update time on my squads
Syracuse Orange basketball-well, ESPN will be happy they lost. I hate ESPN, especially Digger Phelps. Such a loathesome prick. Earlier this week while Da 'Cuse was going for their 20th win, in a row, I got to listen to the halftime crew bash this team-what they lack, why they won't go undefeated (did anyone really think they would? I didn't), how they don't have a post-up game or a go-to scorer. This is the #1 team in the country, mind you. Well, now they have a loss after visiting South Bend. No Fab Melo, due to a potential academic suspension. You play with what you have, but the team missed Fab tonight. Shit happens. Fuck ESPN. Maybe they can tie Tebow into the coverage.
Bernie Fine-this is an addendum to the Syracuse stuff. 4 accusers originally. The 4th one admits he was a liar. He said Fine molested him because Fine wouldn't pay for a lawyer after his latest transgression of the law. Accuser #3 now just wants the investigation to end-after admitting he doctored emails to police. And accusers #1 & 2 hired famed ambulance chaser (sorry, lawyer) Gloria Allred and slapped a defamation lawsuit on Syracuse University and head coach Jim Boeheim. Anyone else find it odd they didn't pursue a civil suit against Fine? Jason Whitlock brings another point out, and if it's true, I sure as hell hope the pink mafia comes to the rescue, just to watch ESPN and their ilk squirm. By the way, anyone else think this case is crumbling against Fine? Could he sue Syracuse for unlawful termination? What if, like Whitlock suggests, Fine is gay, or bisexual? Wouldn't that tie to sexual orientation discrimination? Could Fine sue ESPN for outing him?
Boston Celtics-uh, might be time to start trading the old vets for some younger legs. I've seen two games and they don't have it. That team lacks speed, in a big bad ugly way. Time to pair Rondo with a couple of bigs that can rebound, play defense and fill the lane on the break, and a couple of guys that can score from the wings. Call Portland and Golden State....just do it! I'm sad, I love KG, Paul and Jesus Shuttlesworth. But their my age, in a young man's game. GM Danny Ainge, as a fan, you have my blessing. Sad as it may be, it's time. Has anyone seen anything to tell me otherwise?
Boston Red Sox-just traded SS Marco Scutaro to Colorado. Uh, he's a Yankee-killer. Who's playing SS this year? A platoon with Mike Aviles and Nick Punto? Good grief man! OF Carl Crawford just had surgery on his wrist. Fan-freakin-tastic! I don't like the makeup of this team. Not after Tampa Bay signed Carlos Pena and the damn Yankees got SP in the form of Michael Pineda and Hiroki Kuroda. I'm just waiting for the day we get to hear the Orioles got smart and back up the bank truck for Prince Fielder.
Boston Bruins-okay, the borderline stupid/dangerous hits need to stop, now. I don't want to continue into the season and have some of these guys with targets on their back. One observation-backup goalie Tuukka Rask is awesome, it'd be nice if he got a nice bounce his way every once in awhile. Anyone got a rabbit's foot for him? The rest of the team is fine, although I did see the sobering news that Marc Savard still isn't doing well. I wish him the best, I have no idea what he's going thru with post-concussion syndrome.
NFL Picks
Last week I went 2-2, my buddy Shane will back me up. I took New Orleans (-4) and Denver (+14) on Saturday, lost both. Last Sunday I took Houston (+7.5) and NY Giants (+7.5), won both. For tomorrow?
Baltimore @ New England (-9): Baltimore always plays New England tough, and while Pats QB Tom Brady is a career 4-1 vs Baltimore, he's got 6 TDs and 6 INTs against the Ravens in those games. I remember the playoff game in 2009, and I'd hate for this game to start that way, with a Ray Rice 80 yd TD run. I'm taking the points, and shaking my head, I don't feel good about this game. Baltimore
NY Giants @ San Francisco (-3): Eli's got it going, even if I had to rub my eyes like I didn't believe what I was seeing last Saturday night with Alex Smith making 2 game winning drives. NY Giants

Alright, time to calm down crazy-brain
Then why do they want to fuck up a good thing?
In the last 7 hours, I've had a major incident at work with a colleague in NYC (and family drama). How bad was it? I had 3 different people jump in my cube to tell me:
1. You're doing it right
2. Wow, what's her deal?
3. It's kinda getting to you, but not as bad as we've seen
Look, I've been making an effort lately to make sure that I am aware of my mood. Not only that, but that my mood is my choice, so suck it up, put a smile on your face, and laugh at the world around you. The fact that I can walk pain-free for the first time in 6 months doesn't hurt this at all, either.
So why do people seem to want to take their bad mood and piss on my parade? This is not a 'whoa is me' idea, this is a 'seriously, wtf did I do to you?' thing. Do people out there look for happy people and want to drag them down into their misery? Damn near every time I was aggravated or pissed off (I get it, it was a lot, I know-and I'm sorry), I did everything in my power to get away from people. Hell, I thought I was helping. Tell me, am I nuts here?
Oh well, off to bed. Tomorrow is another day for a chance at victory.
And suck exhaust, Jets fans....B's 5, The 'Peg 3.
Call #2 has been made
We shall see...

Playoffs, Wild Card round
Last Week: 7-8-1
Regular Season (oof): 116-123-9
Playoffs??!!
Yup, it’s that time of year again. Man, was I not good in the regular season. Well, that coincides with my horrible fantasy football season, so why not?
Saturday’s games
Cincinnati @ Houston (-4): In my heart I want the Bengals to win. Why? Because they would then have to travel to New England. But the team caught a case of the flu. Houston will be playing with a banged up QB, again. If T.J. Yates gets hurt, the Texans will turn to Jake Delhomme. Ok, the vote may get swung on that piece of info alone. This is Houston’s first home playoff game since the days of the Oilers. Cincinnati is young, and they almost beat Houston earlier this season. Cincinnati
Detroit @ New Orleans (-10 ½): The Lions just gave up 480 yards and 6 TDs to the backup QB of the Packers, Matt Flynn. On the road. In the snow. Saints QB Drew Brees has just as many weapons, and running back conglomerate that can run and catch. At home. In a dome. New Orleans
Sunday’s games
Atlanta @ NY Giants (-3): There is one team I have stated I don’t want to see right now across from me, and that is the Giants. They are healthy. And they have an awesome pass rush. I have previously called the Falcons a fraud team. I stick to my guns. NY Giants
Pittsburgh (-8) @ Denver: Line’s too high. That was my first thought. Pittsburgh will be without SS Ryan Clark due to a blood illness. No C Maurkice Pouncey, either. QB Ben Roethlisberger will be on 1 ½ legs, as his high ankle sprain makes him hobble around like a sea captain on a peg leg. The loss of RB Rashard Mendenhall won’t be as big of a loss as some local radio commentators will have you believe. They only let him carry the ball 20+ times in a game once this year. The Steelers are a passing team. The Broncos backed into the playoffs having lost their last 3 games, 2 of them at home. Denver doesn’t know how to beat good teams, plain and simple. I honestly wonder if Pittsburgh would be better off starting Charlie Batch at QB. Certainly I think they would score more points. Roethlisberger’s greatest strength is his ability to string out a play and hit for big yardage. Tomorrow he will be standing out there like a statue, that just seems bad for business. I still think the line is too high, but the Broncos don’t score points, and last I checked the Steelers still have a damn fine set of linebackers, and FS Troy Polamalu. Pittsburgh
I'll have more stuff later....I have jobs to find!
