2, 3, 14 things

Really Canada? I thought you were better than this. And when I was told it was in London, I immediately thought of England and the soccer hooligans that lack class. Relax, I know it's not all Canadians that are racist. Just like all Tea-Partiers aren't either...(see what I did there? Made you think, didn't it?--Good, now quit watching the morons in the media and think for your damn self.)
I can only hope and pray that those around the buffoon that threw a banana onto a hockey rink made the collective decision to pummel said buffoon. That's not right in any arena, let alone a hockey rink.

I got a text from my buddy in Toronto last night (Wadup Kenny P?! Smooch my God-Daughter for me), but my phone decided to do some funny things last night...like factory reset itself....awesome! Don't worry, I didn't lose numbers or contacts, it was all saved thanks to the power of Google.

You wanted my opinion of the Red Sox, and here it is-I hope they don't make the playoffs. This team screams '2005' all over again to me. And they cannot play the injury card. Quite simply, this team has not made the plays that champions make when it comes to crunch time. They had 2 opportunities this past week against Baltimore, of all teams, to put away the wild card. And they choked. There is no other way to say it. They have won 5 of their last 21. Sorry, that crap may be acceptable in Houston, Pittsburgh or Kansas City, but not in The Nation. I'm firmly of the belief that if this MASH unit does make the playoffs and has to play Texas in the first round, forget it, it'll be a sweep. If they play Detroit they have an outside shot. But again, the pitching has been awful. Yes, I have stated my hatred for all things John Lackey, but between the injury to Dice-K and Tim Wakefield being relied on to provide stability, it's not working. The bullpen is taxed, and as such guys like Bard are throwing like Kyle Farnsworth (100 mph...but straight and flat-never a good thing). While appreciate this group's ability to own mistakes, it's time for someone to step up. I thought it was going to happen a couple of weeks ago with Ellsbury and Pedroia, but they have cooled, albeit slightly. They need Carl Crawford to go off on a tear, or some of those sharply hit balls by newcomer Josh Reddick to fall, instead of being hit right at someone. All in all, this team could do it, but I'm not that hopeful, and I'm not in love with this group like I was with the crews in '04 or '07. This team needs arms, and young ones at that. Call the Cubs and see if they want to trade Matt Garza, immediately as you can. Not only can he thrive in Boston, he already knows the division. That, and start drafting arms again.

I have but one political comment, regarding Solyndra. If any other person at the head of this country other than Obama was in office, they'd have been filleted and impeached by now. That deal reeks of insider trading and bullying. Best part? That the company was allowed to restructure it's deal before it went bankrupt so that those who ran that idea into the ground got their money back first in protection, leaving us as taxpayers holding the bag for half a billion dollars. Gee, thanks. No one let this man near a financial statement, he clearly can't read it.

It's noon somewhere, I need a drink!!
