I wrote this on the back of a note Ma Dukes put in a care package for me with bonbons, 7 layer bars and of course the CCBB (that's Chocolate Chip Banana Bread for all y'all that don't know). Before I get to the nitty and the gritty, a quick note....
"Slow cooker bags are awesome!"...where does this stuff come from? Oh, yeah, I made chicken in a pot and used those plastic bags-wicked easy and virtually no cleanup. Who doesn't love that?
Now I remember why I wrote the title this way. I have two friends of mine in various capacities at public schools. Both are having the race card shoved down their throats. And to add to it, now my roommate that I helped get a job thru my contracting company is dealing with the same type of bologna. Sorry, but I think we're all tired of it. I'm tired of hearing, "now we have a black President, so...." No we don't. We have a half black President, or do you dismiss his Mom? Because I thought it wasn't cool to dismiss a black man's Mother? Or was that Tupac song bullshit? Which is it? Again, like my previous post when it concerns dating, you cannot have it both ways. Either you're qualified to do a job or you are not.
In my friend who is a teacher's case, here's the kicker....she's part Jewish and part Hispanic? How the hell can she be racist? Instead she has to keep her head down and take part in listening to the abuse because if she spoke up, you know what would happen. BAM-the race card! That's what. From the stories I hear, this person is useless. They don't do their job, hell with doing it well. Sorry, that doesn't reflect on a whole race, just the person.
Regarding my friend who is in a higher level administrative role, she had to hire someone. She hired the person with the better qualifications and educational background. How odd, to do that in an academic setting. Should she hire the lady who has a high school diploma who has been there for a few years, or the person who showed up with great credentials who is looking for a foot in the door? Mind you, the person with the years in the gig isn't going to get fired, she's just not getting a promotion. Still has her job. Where's the racism? But since someone didn't get a job, you know what comes out....BAM-the race card!!
And now my roommate-he works with the atypical race-baiter. Yup, the person that asks the most ignorant questions during training, doesn't pay attention, is proud of their neck tattoo, and walks around like she's dead sexy. Sorry, stupid ain't sexy. I've heard this woman talk-it reeks of despair and dying to play the role of the victim. Nothing is ever her fault. Not her giant ass, not her poor choice in clothing, nor her horrid choice in body ink. Sorry, I saw one of them, not classy, mostly trashy. Damn near looks like a prison tattoo. Yeah, I said it.
What got me creased was my roommate telling me that they can't do a pot-luck, an end of training tradition, because this woman had the gall to say that since she hasn't seen your kitchen she can't eat your food. So management caved. Typical white guilt. My response would have been, "great, that's one less mouth to feed. The rest of us (like 20 people) will have fun." Instead, this knucklehead has been wearing everyone down with stupidity for 3 weeks that no one had the gusto to stand up and tell her to zip it. No one wants to hear all the dumbness coming out of ya mouth.
In all of these situations, there is this need to want to claim the victim, when all seem to act the fool. Funny, I thought it was a black man who asked us not to judge a man by the color of their skin but on the content of their character. Or was I the only one listening?
I don't know about you, but I have no problem being called a bigot-because I damn sure hate dumb people. We all don't have to agree but I don't have to care about all your drama, leave that shit to your friends and family. You go to work to work, not force your will of being incapable of seeing past your own face.

I had to have a talk with one of my employees about the way she was talking with people (first part). They was basically saying that she could do their jobs better than they could. The emails would go on and on and on...back and forth. The next Monday, she wrote a long email (must have been over the weekend) about how a procedure I was putting in place was not the correct action and her suggestions were WISER...and kept repeating the WISER option in this email. She sent this out to me, all the other managers and MY manager who is a VP. I also told her to not go around me and if she has a problem with a decision I make to talk to me first. I think this was about a month ago.
She is not going around telling people I am racist, she is not going to get a promotion because she is black (not because she is unprofessional when it comes to dealing with people or we don't have the money right now to promote her and it was turned down by the CEO)...it's not because of what she did or other events...it's because she is black.
And you know what is funny...I haven't changed one bit in the way I talk or work with her. She is the only one. I am acting like nothing is wrong and let her sink on her own! I fucking hate when people call me racist! I hate anything to do with racism. And I have Jewish, black, hispanic, middle easterns all in my family! Some people...it's the easier way out for them to believe that it's race instead of them just not being professional! Ok...I miss your blog!
