The express lane (just a couple of items)

I used to love Notre Dame. I really did, mostly during the Lou Holtz years. And then I mostly stopped caring about college football. Notre Dame, for the last 10 years or so, I kinda thought of as a joke-they think they are way more important than they truly are.

Well, after reading about the poor kid who died filming practice when the wind was blowing 50+ miles an hour, and hearing ND higher ups talk about this kid's death like that of the family goldfish, this story comes out. I want to know why there isn't a national outrage? Why isn't every woman's group, Gloria Allred, where the hell is everyone on this? Why are we barely hearing about this? In light of this, Notre Dame can kiss my ass, I'll never root for them again. This latest story is beyond embarrassing.

And good for Pat LaFontaine, getting the word out about concussions.

When I was a medical advacate I was called to the hospital on a case of a girl being brought to the hospital after her friend found her slicing her wrist. WHY? Cause she wanted the attention? No...she was trying to deal with being gang raped by people she thought were friends. One of those friends she grew up with and considered to be like a brother to her.

No one knew about her being raped cause she thought she did something to cause it. She never told any friends until that night. And she was cutting CORRECTLY! If her friend didn't walk in on her when she did, she would have died too! Luckily, she didn't cut deep enough..but she said she wasn't going to stop until she reached deep enough to die.

I was there for hours talking to her. Letting her know she was not alone and how we will help her in every way we could. We would never let her down. I was also honest with her that memories would never go away. You learn to deal with the memories because you NEVER get over something like this. She found a lot of relief from this. The honesty...the carrying...and protective ways of the abuse center I worked for.

This article...the girl did everything right! How they treated her and treated the guy who raped her is beyond words! The time between the rape and her suicide was also so short. It really makes me wonder what type of abuse counciling she was receiving. Most suck ass to be honest!

And for everyone else...1 in 4 girls are sexually assulted before they are even 18. Now you ready for this...1 in 5 boys are too!

PS...I now hate Notre Dame!
