Now that's rich...

So I just got off the phone with an HR rep for a company I've applied to, oh, at least a dozen times. She told me that they were looking to fill the position internally (then why post it on the friggin' corporate website-because the gubment said so??? grrrrr) and that if that doesn't work they would look to outside candidates.

After she asked me how long I'd been out of work, I told her 'quite a while, honestly'. And then she said, and I'm quoting here:

"Well, you don't want to come off as desperate."

Are you kidding me? I've been out of work for almost 14 months and I'm not supposed to sound desperate? How should I sound? Like I don't need it? This ain't dating there, dummy. This is me busting my ass trying to get some work. Don't come off as desperate. Fine, fuck you and your company (oh, I suddenly feel better), I'll take my work ethic elsewhere.

I've stated it before but I'm going to state it again: other than my buddy Shane, the rest of the people with the letters 'HR' in their title should all get to know what's it's like to be on the other end of that phone call along with the bank calling about their funds being too low. Assholes.

I'll have more positive news later.
