Day 2 of the tourney!

a few quick notes before I get to my picks/thoughts on today's games....

Jesse James, you really cheated on Sandra Bullock with this beat lookin' thing? And with the possibility of her being an anti-semite and using her son's name as her stage name, in a word, EWWWWWW.

Tiger Woods porn mistress let's the world know his horndoggedness via text message. Tiger, seriously? This is another beat broad. She's gross. Like she's ugly, even by porn standards. I know it's up to like 14 mistresses or some crap, and while I will never condone cheating, come on! Her??? There wasn't one other woman in the adult industry you could've tried? Damn!

The Bruins last night....someone turn the lights out in the locker room. I heard booing on TV last night, and you know what? I don't blame the fans one bit. Yup, Cooke took his turn at the dance, and even Chara tried to fire the troops up, but VP Cam Neely is dead on when he states that those guys better look in the mirror and find out if they give a crap. That effort is putrid, and I'd rather see them not make the playoffs than to get swept in the first round by Pittsburgh and outshot, outplayed and outhustled every game in a series.

Tourney picks!
Morgan State vs. West Virginia
West Virginia will still be running from the high of winning the Big East tournament last week. After the awful showing by the Big East yesterday, WVU gets the ball rolling in a positive direction by winning this game.

Minnesota vs. Xavier
Lots to like about Minnesota's program and all the work coach Tubby Smith has done since the idiots in Lexington, Kentucky showed him the door. But nothing beats experience, and Xavier has it. As such, they win a tough game.

Cornell vs. Temple
I know, everyone seems to be on the Big Red, especially Andy Bernard. When everyone rides one team, it's a sure fire reason to go the other way. That, and Temple can play with anyone.

Siena vs. Purdue
I feel for Purdue. They lost F Robbie Hummel a few weeks ago to a torn ACL. Had he stayed healthy, this was a team with a final four shot. Now, they're done after today. Siena, and I don't think it will be close.

Missouri vs. Clemson
if you like teams that press, this is your game to watch. Otherwise, I'm not too high on either team, as I've watched them like I watch Sunday afternoon baseball when it's raining outside, with one eye open while napping on the couch. Oh, I took Clemson in my brackets...whatever.

Oakland vs. Pittsburgh
I'm going with Pitt, and thinking and hoping that today is a good day for the Big East.

Wofford vs. Wisconsin
I know some will pick Wofford in an upset, but not me. The Badgers win a low scoring affair.

Utah State vs. Texas A&M
Another vaunted 5/12 game....upset time, right? Wrong! A&M is a tough team and will be a tough out in this tournament, and they have a damn good team.

Florida State vs. Gonzaga
I like Gonzaga in this one, provided they don't have a hangover from losing their conference tournament title game to St. Mary's. FSU has a lot of size inside, but Gonzaga has more overall talent. Talent wins.

Georgia Tech vs. Oklahoma State
I would love to pick GT in this one, but I've seen them play 5 times, and every time, I wonder who in the hell recruits guards for this team. No one can dribble, they turn the ball over way too much, so much so that they can keep both teams in the game. Not a recipe for success. Oh, and Nation, meet James Anderson. James, the Nation. Okie State wins.

New Mexico State vs. Michigan State
Michigan State is in trouble as a team and as a program right now, and they could be ripe for the pickings here, but I think they take the game as long as they don't overlook this NMSU squad. If they do, they'll get socked in the jaw like Georgetown did last night.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff vs. Duke
Duke, in a rout, and I don't want to talk about the Blue Devils anymore than that.

Vermont vs. Syracuse
my boys will be without starting Center Arinze Onuaku. I love AO. And this sucks, because Syracuse doesn't have a whole lot of depth. There is talent there, to be sure, but not a lot of it has played. Well, please, I'm imploring my boys and all the fans from Syracuse traveling to Buffalo to get loud and stomp the hippies. Seriously, if Syracuse loses this game, it'll be the first team in the history of the format to be a #1 seed to lose to a #16 seed. I might have to grow a beard and move to Montana...or you could find me rocking back and forth on my bed while sucking my damn thumb. Winning like Kentucky won last night would be a good thing.

Cal-Santa Barbara vs. Ohio State
uh, for those that haven't seen Evan Turner play, just sit back and enjoy what a great complete basketball player looks like. And Ohio State is so much more than him, but for the casual fan (you know who you are), just sit back and have fun watching, because it's a treat.

Houston vs. Maryland
I have Houston in an upset. I think the #4 seeds in this tournament are weak as hell, and Maryland is a bit of a Jeckyll and Hyde team. They could show up flat and get trounced, or they could show up juiced and run Houston off the court. I think the former.

Louisville vs. California
I had Cal in all my brackets until yesterday morning when I saw they had suspended a starter. Well, I changed all my brackets to Louisville. Don't mess this up Pitino, or I'll send another ugly skank for you to hook up with at an Applebee's bathroom. Sidenote-as his wife, while you're pissed and hurt that your husband cheated, does it go to a different level when you find out that he nailed some broad in a chain restaurant bathroom? I mean, if he checks into the Four Seasons, you know he still has a bit of class, but a bathroom floor? Sorry, it was a question in my head.

Yesterday I went 11-5, not horrid, but I can do better.

Happy Friday to all.
