So I'm a day late--and about a dollar short. Oh well, better late than never. Here are my predictions for tomorrow's games:
NY Giants @ Green Bay-Do you really trust Eli Manning? Do you think that the Giants can get enough pressure on Brett Favre to negate the fact that the Giants could be starting their #3 and 4 corners? Me, neither. I know the Giants have won 9 on the road, and they are playing very good football. But they don't pass my eyeball test. I've been impressed by their two wins over Tampa Bay and Dallas, but I just don't see the Giants going into Green Bay and beating the Packers. Green Bay is just the more solid team, and they've got that Favre guy. Him, he's pretty good. The other thing to be reminded of is that it is currently rumored to be 4 degrees at game time. Yelling out "BURRRRRR" would be the definition of understatement. I know that the Giants will bring some pressure from their front four, but it won't be enough to effect Favre into the turnovers they'll need to win the game. I'm thinking Packers 33-17.
San Diego @ New England-Game time temperature is stated to be 10. San Diego averages around 70-80 all day, everyday. Yes, beating Indianopolis was nice, but it was in a dome. There are also reports that Chargers QB (or loudmouth) Philip Rivers has a partially torn ACL. So I'm thinking we will be seeing quite a bit of Billy Volek. LT2 is hurt, as is Antonio Gates. And Igor Olshanskey was yapping while walking off the field in Indy. Cris Carter on Inside NFL stated it, and if you don't have HBO or missed the show, it bears repeating-"San Diego is too immature to win this game." I concur. I've spoken to some that think San Diego will give New England a game, that they are a different team than the team that got spanked in Week 2. I disagree. I'm done with listening to people tell me that the Chargers are classy. They are a bunch of punks who are on the verge of a savage beating...Pats win, easy 42-10. And I wouldn't be shocked if it wasn't even that close.
Enjoy the fun on Sunday!
