Here are my thoughts from Week 9, from what I got to see on the tube to viewing on NFL.com and some highlights...
The Broncos stink, and I knew that, but to have 6 drops after QB Jay Cutler gets hurt? That's terrible. I know they've been beset by injuries, but they have no heart. Detroit just owned them yesterday, and it could have been a lot worse than the 44-7 score.
Hey Mike Shanahanigans, thanks for calling a timeout with 23 seconds left in that ass-kicking, just to see if you can sneak one in...you suck. What, did you tease Detroit and the Over? Be thankful Detroit didn't put Shaun Rogers back in to bitchslap your QB. There is no 36 point play in football.
To the replay booth official after the correct call of "fumble" was made after the aforementioned timeout, screw you, too!!! I and the rest of the damn nation wanted to watch the kickoff of the Pats and Colts, but thanks to you taking your sweet ass time, I missed the first 3 minutes. It is a play that matters not, believe me. Every once in awhile, officials get it right, although I'll have more to say about that in a few sentences....
Now, from the Pats game. Right before Addai took his little dumpoff catch and rambled 73 yards for a TD, I'm sure my neighbors could hear me screaming, "Cover the back!!!!"
My 1st half impression is that the Pats should be embarassed, especially the coaching staff. What was that Defense, Prevent Cover 3? It appeared that they were playing not to lose instead of playing to win, which never works.
102 yards in penalties in the 1st half. Nice work, Commissioner Goodell, you've leveled the playing field.
11:52 of 3rd-who is calling plays? Tell Maroney to stop dancing in the hole. Hit it and get what you can
Kevin Faulk getting turned before the pass gets to him, no call...and right in front of an official. Not one person in the history of sports has ever moved that way without help from someone, but apparently you missed it. And now that Brady is pissed, I think this could get to be fun.
0:08 3rd, I love that Welker returns punts and always gets positive yardage. Nothing worse than losing field position.
11:00 4th-it just doesn't look like the Pats want it as much as the Colts, am I missing something?
A pass interference call on Randy Moss.....I'm shocked, shocked I say!
TD catch by Wes Welker was great, but the throw was that much more impressive. You'll be seeing Jaws break that baby down all week.
There is another game being televised in the Denver market, Seattle at Cleveland...and Braylon Edwards just dropped a TD pass. Hit him right in between the 1 and the 7, and the announcers are stating that isn't the 1st drop for him this game...uh-oh (yes, I flipped during commercials. No need to worry, my ability to flip channels has never come into question. Fine, there was that Jacksonville game a few years ago, but it was snowing and I had company!)
Aaron Moorehead just had a huge drop, not as big as Reggie Wayne's later, but big.
Holy crap, are the Pats actually pulling this off???
Jarvis!!! Great surge, and smart play by slapping Manning's arm, ball right into Colvin's hands. I could care less about the 15 yd penalty for spiking it on the Colts logo, too bad.
Rodney Harrison played great in coverage on Dallas Clark. 2 catches for 15 yards, fantastic work.
So, I haven't read all the stuff I normally read early on a Monday morning, but I started to hear it last night, and it's bunk. That the Colts didn't have Marvin Harrison or Tony Ugoh. Too bad. Funny, no one was making excuses for the Pats last years without Seau or Rodney Harrison. Take your loss like men. There are no excuses. You play with what you have. Be thankful BB didn't put Samuel on Wayne. If there is a next time, Hobbs will be that much better. And I've heard no one talk about the Pats team record in penalty yardage, with 2 huge bogus
pass interference calls.
My favorite part of this game, that the Pats are not happy with their performance. Watch out.
After the Sunday night game, I was watching the local news (I lost the remote, briefly), and WR Brandon Marshall states that he can't name any of the Lions, except for a guy he went to college with...WTF?? Dude, stop drinking and driving. Those Lions just pasted your no-hands having ass up and down the field. 44-7 is not an anomoly, you got beat.
Norv Turner, please pick up the white courtesy telephone, it's Adrian Peterson telling you he's going to run left again. San Diego is done, put a fork, meat thermometer or grave on them. You had a top 10 running D, and Minnesota can't pass, yet this kid just beat you into submission. You are nothing more than a great O coordinator. It's over for you as a head coach. If I were an owner and you called asking to interview for a HC job, I'd laugh and hang up.
Oh, and I hate David Carr. I think I can sack him.

Yes the Broncos suck. They suck so damn bad. I don't care how many people are hurt...play like you mean it! And you are right...what the hell was taking a time out really going to do? You lost...now suck it up and take it like a man.
