So I've let it sit for 24 hours, and the only thing that is stuck in my mind is Alex Rodriguez and his jackass of an agent. In case you need a recap, sometime around the 8th inning, Fox decided it had to report that A-Rod had announced he was opting out of his contract with the Yankees. I honestly wish I could track down Peter Gammons and get his uncensored take on this, because if you grew up with him in Boston like I did, you know that he held his tongue on SportsCenter last night and on The Herd this afternoon. He's ticked, and quite frankly, so am I.
Let me just state this, if I ever see Scott Boras or Gay-Rod, I will tell them flat out that neither of them have any class. Whatsoever. And the best part is, everyone agrees with this. And this might be the only time you'll ever get Yankees and Red Sox fans to agree on anything.
And why does this really chap my ass? Because it's supposed to be the Red Sox moment...the Rockies moment!!! That's why, damn it! This cheesedick gets the pub, and why? Because he and his agents are to of the biggest self-agrandizing schmucks to walk this holy planet, that's why. He had 10 after the completion of the World Series to make this statement, why now?! If we were in the 70's I would simply say, "Dudes, not cool." To take away the limelight from the likes of Lowell, Lester, Schilling, Beckett and even some of the Rockies, it's just wrong, it's despicable. Totally took away from a great moment for those that were enjoying the World Series.
And of course, today Lucifer, I mean Boras comes out with some lame-ass apology. My parents were right, it's easier to apologize than to ask for permission. A-Rod can have his announcement, but doesn't have the decency to fly out to Colorado to get his Hank Aaron award from, oh, Hank Aaron!!! Prior commitment my ass. This clown better be thankful Ted Williams is a friggin' popsicle in Arizona, otherwise his old ass might make the bitch cry. Here's to hoping Beckett, Schilling, Dice-K and anyone else involved in this World Series puts one in his earhole on the first at-bat. He'll be psyched, it will add to his career HBP total. I will no longer listen to those on shows tell me he's a nice guy. He's an asshole with no integrity.

Now on to happier things...The Boston Red Sox are champs, twice in 4 years. Yahooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Best part of the night? Celebrating with one of my best friends, and of course a bunch of other Red Sox fans at yet another bar. And this one felt different. 2004 was a long journey, with way too many emotions wrapped up in it, kind of like losing your identity, but in a good way. This one I just sat back and enjoyed all the guys on the team, and how they worked together. And that is what it's all about, not the damn hokie-pokie. Either way, I'm exhausted from all the screaming, yelling, cheering and dancing (if that's what you can call it).

I'll talk football tomorrow, it's not like I've got anything else to do. Oh, except I think the Pats just scored again....

It's true, you really don't have anything to do anymore. Stay out until 3 am...party all night long and watch sports. Damn you have the life!
