Look, I know I said my first post would be about Barry Bonds, and I'll get to it, but this just came across me looking at espn.com and I'm calling bullshit.
Derek Fisher is reported to be signing a contract with the Lakers for 3 years. Sorry, if I'm the Utah Jazz, I'm filing a grievance with the league. This is way too convenient.
We all got a little misty when we heard the news of Fisher being late for a Game 3, that his daughter has this rare form of eye cancer, and I think she's less than a year old. That's commendable, being with your child during surgery. Honestly, it's the only thing to do. I'm not an athlete, but even if I had a big project/presentation to do and my kid was about to undergo surgery, I'm pretty sure that as long as it wasn't a Sweet 16 Boob-job, I'd be right there. And if my employer told me be there or be unemployed...well I'd say hello to the unemployment line.
So why am I calling Bullshit? Simple. Fisher asked out of his contract so he could be with his daughter and take care of her. Now, less than a month after getting that release, he's going back to his old team??? The same team that is in desperate need of a PG? The team whose stud, Kobe Bryant, has blatantly stated, "Get me some friggin' players!!", really?
If I'm Larry Miller and Jerry Sloan, my fingers can't hit speed dial fast enough to the commissioners office for compensation. And believe me, no one thinks Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak is this smart, so I won't be surprised if David Stern just waves his hand like a security guard at the airport, because the Lakers in the playoffs means TV ratings.
What a crock. My two cents

Ok...your first bitch! Stop ragging on my boys. You can bitch about Kobe all you like but not Fisher! LA has better hospitals than Utah anyway!
Who cares what Fisher did...get over it.
